Started as an engineer. Became a designer. Turns out that combination solves a specific kind of problem really well.

Who I am
I have a background in software engineering, which I didn't plan to use in design, but it's become one of the most useful things I bring to the work. I catch things early: edge cases, structural problems, decisions that seem fine until they're not. It means fewer surprises by the time something reaches engineering.
I also have an artist's instinct. I love making things, designing, crafting, cooking, and I think that's what gives the details their quality. The engineering background tells me where something might break. The creative side tells me when it doesn't feel right yet.
How I work
I think in systems before I think in screens. When I look at a problem I'm tracing how things connect, where the friction actually comes from, not just where it shows up. I work closely with product and engineering from early on because the best decisions happen before the constraints are locked in.
I'm comfortable with the messy middle of a project too, shifting priorities, late constraints, stakeholder feedback that changes direction. That's just the job, and I've learned to work with it rather than around it.
